The Peril and the Prince
May. 12th, 2014 02:55 pmChopping vegetables the other night, I sliced into my left little finger, clean through the nail. Blood on the parsnips. That was red.
Then I somehow managed to get a splinter underneath the nail on my left ring finger. I didn't realise I had a splinter; I just thought I'd bent the nail. It wasn't until a couple of days later, when my fingertip was hot and red, that I gave it a squeeze and pus came out. Fun.
Meanwhile, I pulled out the old vegetable plants last week, and managed to get an eggplant splinter in the pad of my right middle finger. Later, I got a paper cut across the pad of my right index finger. I also managed to burn my forearm on a hot oven tray.
So I'm currently sporting band-aids on four fingers, plus a clear dressing on my arm. I look incompetent, to say the least.
